Tori Terms of Service
Last updated 4 September 2026
These terms cover your use of the Tori app and its service. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
You need an account to use Tori. Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@usetori.com if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 13 or older.
Beta software
Tori is in beta. Features may change or be removed, and data loss, downtime, and defects are possible. Do not use Tori as the only record of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Your content
Your inventory, photos and notes stay yours. You grant Tori the permission it needs to store, process and display that content in order to run the service for you and for the household members you share it with. Do not upload content you do not have the right to upload, or content that is unlawful.
Households
Inviting someone to your household gives them access to that household's inventory, locations and images. Removing them ends that access going forward. If you leave or delete your account, data belonging to a household with other active members stays with that household.
Tori Assistant
Inventory answers describe the records saved in your selected scope; they do not detect possessions you have not recorded or confirm where an object is physically located now. Supported inventory and location questions run locally without AI credits. Online AI features may require an eligible plan and available credits.
The assistant produces suggestions, not professional advice. It can be wrong about ingredients, allergens, food safety and expiry. It is not a medical, nutritional or emergency service. Use your own judgement, particularly around allergies and spoiled food.
Product information
Product names, images and details from barcode or receipt lookups can come from public catalogues, retailers or AI-assisted identification, and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Review receipt lines, matches and quantities before recording them. Always check the physical packaging for anything that matters, including allergens.
Acceptable use
Do not break the law with Tori, do not try to access other people's data, do not attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, and do not resell it.
Subscriptions
Some features require a paid subscription. The available plan, price, billing period, renewal terms and any trial are shown before you purchase; availability can vary by platform and region. Subscriptions renew under the terms shown at checkout unless you cancel through the provider where you subscribed.
Apple App Store and Google Play purchases are billed and managed through that store. Where browser checkout is offered, RevenueCat Web Billing and Stripe handle web subscriptions. Use Manage subscription in Settings or the management link from your purchase confirmation to find the applicable provider. If you cannot access it, contact support@usetori.com.
Uninstalling Tori, clearing device data or deleting your Tori account does not cancel a subscription. You can cancel before deleting your account to avoid future renewals, but cancellation is not a condition of account deletion. Refund requests follow the rules of the store or billing provider that processed the purchase, without limiting rights you have under applicable law.
AI credits and service limits
AI credits are an allowance for eligible Tori features, not money, a cash balance or a guarantee of a provider's token cost. Some actions can use more credits than others. Available allowances, feature access and balances are shown in the app and depend on your plan and any grants. Monthly and promotional credits may have different renewal or expiry rules.
Credits cannot be withdrawn for cash. Having credits does not guarantee that every AI request can be completed: feature availability, request limits, provider availability and spending controls can temporarily prevent a request. Local inventory and item-location answers do not spend AI credits.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account and device data → Delete account. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. The account-deletion page explains the email request option, shared-household records, retained records and deletion timing.
Warranties and liability
Tori is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Tori is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data or profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
Changes
We publish changes here and update the revision date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. Changes do not remove rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
